THOMAS C. BRITT-bio

An only child in a happy home near Lafayette, Tennessee, Thomas started painting when he was only seven years old. Raised on a farm, Thomas has warm memories of hunting and fishing with his beloved grandfather. These early experiences are reflected in his art. He enjoys painting farm subjects as well as hunting and fishing scenes.

Working in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, water color, and pastels, Thomas paints every day. He admits to a preference for acrylic paint, as it enables him to create the details that lend realism to his work. He also enjoys creating series art, where he takes a single subject, such as a tractor, and renders it in different makes and models.

Thomas credits his happy childhood with his parents and grandfather and his abiding faith for providing the inspiration for his work. He also looks to the Renaissance Old Masters for inspiration. A welder by trade, Thomas would like to make his living in the future as a professional artist.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army and is a Master Mason in a military lodge.
